Château Clerc Milon 2000 Paulliac
Origin: Paulliac, Haut-Médoc, Bordeaux, France
Blend: cabernet sauvignon 67%, merlot 33%
Producer's Notes: A very deep and dense purple, the wine has a powerful and elegant nose on opulent aromas of black fruit macerated in spirits, together with notes of mint and camphor, tobacco and mocha.
The attack is immediately unctuous and smooth, the texture very dense, with robust, forward tannins. It lingers pleasantly on the palate, sustained by the macerated black cherry notes already present on the nose.
A long and bracing, still youthful finish holds out a promising future for a vintage which calls for a few more years’ patience.
