Stratus' 2017 Semillon is an undeniable stunner, still expressively youthful offering an explosion of fruit. Its generous flavour profile is reigned in by acidity and tempered by gentle maturity. The oak can barely be felt despite the 18 months it spent in barrel, 33% of which was new. An intriguing dichotomy between an aged Hunter Valley Semillon and a southern Bordelaise white. A strong offering that will continue to improve with time, yet it would be a shame to miss out on its vigour and glory right now.
