A vibrant and characterful white from Abel Mendoza & Maite Fernández, based in San Vicente de la Sonsierra in Rioja Alta. The Jarrarte Blanco is a blend of several traditional Rioja white varieties sourced from older hillside vineyards overlooking the Ebro Valley. Hand-harvested grapes from mature vineyards are fermented in temperature-controlled stainless-steel tanks, with time on the lees to add texture while keeping the wine’s fruit pure and vibrant.Aromas of white peach, citrus and spring flowers lead the way, with subtle herbal and anise-like notes adding complexity. On the palate it is crisp and refreshing, combining bright orchard fruit with lively acidity and a clean, mineral-tinged finish that makes it both expressive and very food-friendly.
Grape varieties: Predominantly Viura, with Malvasía, Tempranillo Blanco, Torrontés and Garnacha Blanca in smaller proportions.
