Producer's Notes:
Deep ruby red. Intense, spicy, and in excellent harmony with red fruits.Round, elegant, harmonious, and intense.
What We Say:
A traditional Tuscan red with the extended aging associated with the Riserva designation, giving it more depth and polish than a straightforward young Chianti. The palate is dry, round, and elegant, with concentrated fruit, refreshing acidity, and refined tannins. Flavors of ripe cherry and red berry, subtle spice, earthiness, and hints of tobacco/vanilla and oak emerge as the wine develops.
Harvest happens in the second half of September, followed by fermentation and approximately two weeks of skin maceration. After pressing and racking, the wine undergoes malolactic fermentation and then spends 1–2 months on its lees. It is bottled 24 months after harvest and then receives another three months of bottle maturation before release.
