It has a fantastic expression, both intense and refined. The passage through the undergrowth imparts a delicate patina that enhances the flavors. A powerful, elegant wine, definitely a distinguished Champagne, made for aging. Aged for 72 months.

From the historic village of Aÿ and crafted by the artisan estate Bérêche et Fils, this 2016 Grand Cru bottling is a standout example of chalky terroir, refined maturity and grower-Champagne precision. Aged on its lees with minimal intervention and low dosage, it captures elegance, depth and the signature mineral tension of Aÿ’s limestone soils.

The nose opens with aromas of baked apple, toasted brioche, lemon peel, almond and flint, with hints of white flowers and honey. On the palate it’s medium-full bodied with fine mousse, vivid acidity, ripe orchard-fruit flavours and a long, saline mineral finish. The 2016 vintage adds richness and early accessibility while still offering cellaring potential.

Grape varieties: Predominantly Pinot Noir from Aÿ Grand Cru, with a supporting role from Chardonnay (typical of the estate) in an approximately 75/25 blend.
