Bérêche & Fils “Les Beaux Regards” Premier Cru - Ludes, Montagne de Reims, Champagne, France
Producer's Notes:
A powerful Champagne, stone, with a strong personality, the structure is lively and fleshy (fat), with very smooth bubbles and a fairly thick texture (old vines). An iodized finish that pairs well with open-sea oysters, with great length. Aged for 36 months.
What we say:
From the artisan house of Bérêche & Fils, this single-vineyard Blanc de Blancs is sourced from the Les Beaux Regards & Les Clos parcels in Ludes Premier Cru. With vines averaging 50+ years, clay-limestone and flint soils, and a low dosage (3 g/L), this wine showcases real terroir clarity and minerality.
Honouring tradition and sustainability, Bérêche uses old-vine Chardonnay, barrel fermentation, extended lees ageing (>36 months) and a light hand with dosage—yielding a Champagne that is crystalline, textured and refined.
On the nose expect fresh lemon, white peach, delicate brioche, chalk and crushed oyster shell. The palate is precise and elegant, with fine mousse, crisp acidity, orchard fruit and a long, saline mineral finish. The structure supports medium-term cellaring, yet it’s already showing depth and elegance.
