Bruna Grimaldi Badarina Barolo - Barolo DOCG, Serralunga d’Alba, Piedmont, Italy
A powerful and beautifully structured Barolo from the historic Badarina cru in Serralunga d’Alba, one of the most revered villages of the Barolo appellation. Produced from 100% Nebbiolo, this wine reflects the intense minerality and firm structure typical of Serralunga’s limestone-rich soils. The Badarina vineyard sits around 450m above sea level with limestone-rich marl soils that give the wine its hallmark minerality, freshness and firm tannic backbone.
The wine undergoes long macerations of about 25-35 days to extract structure and complexity before ageing 24-30 months in large oak casks and tonneaux, followed by additional bottle ageing prior to release.
Aromatically it shows red cherry, raspberry and rose petal, layered with herbal, balsamic and spice notes that deepen with age. On the palate it is full-bodied and energetic, with vibrant acidity and firm yet refined tannins that promise excellent ageing potential and complexity over time.
