Cascina Penna-Currado “Bricco Lago” Nebbiolo - Riva di Chieri, Piedmont, Italy
Producer's Notes:
A deep garnet red colour. Aromas of fruits such as raspberries, cherries and wild strawberries make way for a finish with more evolved rose and violet notes. It is polished on the palate, with hints of crisp red berries and citrus fruit. Velvety smooth tannins come to the fore in the finish.
What we say:
From the historic yet revitalised estate of Penna-Currado, the single-vineyard Bricco Lago Nebbiolo comes from the steep, sun-facing slopes of Riva di Chieri. With a focus on old vines, limestone-rich soils, and hands-on viticulture, this Nebbiolo delivers both regional authenticity and expressive punch.
The nose opens with aromas of wild cherry, raspberry, rose petal, and graphite, interwoven with spice and faint leather. On the palate, it’s medium-bodied with vibrant acid, finely grained tannins, and layers of red fruit, licorice and volcanic minerality. The finish is long and crisp, projecting both elegance and drive.
