Producer's Notes:
These wines come from a vineyard located in and around the commune of Cairanne (in the Vaucluse department, on the left bank of the Rhône), facing the Dentelles de Montmirail and Mont Ventoux. The vines are planted on stony, clay-limestone slopes with excellent sun exposure.
What We Say:
A Southern Rhône red built in a classic Châteauneuf-du-Pape style, with fruit-forward character, warm spice, savory complexity, and a dense, silky structure. The fruit's ripeness gives it a generous entry, while Syrah and Mourvèdre add structure to the Grenache, spice, and savory depth.
The grapes are vinified separately by variety, allowing the winemakers to extract each component's character before creating the final blend. The grapes are completely destemmed and transferred by gravity into small concrete fermentation tanks. The fruit is cooled immediately after being placed in the tanks, delaying fermentation and helping preserve freshness and fruit character. The wine is then aged for about one year in large oak foudres, rather than in small new barrels.
