Producer's Notes:

The grapes are harvested exclusively by hand, allowing for sorting on the vine by the harvester. 80% is vinified using traditional methods with destemming. After 9 days of maceration at a temperature of 30°C and aging, our winemaker proceeds with the blending. 20% undergoes carbonic maceration to extract maximum fruit flavor.

What We Say:

A Southern Rhône red from one of the region's designated village appellations, it fits stylistically between a Côtes du Rhône and a more structured Châteauneuf-du-Pape. The aromas are typical of a warm Southern Rhône red with dark fruits like black cherry, blackcurrant, blackberry, and plum.
For their red wines, Cave de Cairanne lets the wine remain on the skins through a relatively long fermentation and maceration period. An infusion phase follows, helping soften and round the tannins. The wines are lightly filtered before bottling, with a small amount of sulfur used for protection.

 

Grape Varietal: 60% Grenache, 25% Syrah, 15% Mourvèdre
