Producer's Notes: 

Cherry colour with violet reflections. Intense aromas of red fruits. On the mouth [it] is quite voluptuous and persistent due to the “crianza” on the lees. The ideal candidate for almost every dish. Being a considerably structured young red, it is a beautiful companion to sauteed mushrooms, pasta, oven pizza, rice and white meat.

Juicy, Mediterranean and wonderfully easy to drink, ‘Mas Picosa’ is a vibrant organic red that captures the sun-soaked charm of Montsant without sacrificing freshness. It opens with ripe red and black fruits - cherry, blackberry and plum - layered with cracked pepper, wild herbs and a subtle floral lift. The palate is smooth and medium-bodied, with soft tannins and lively acidity giving it a supple, energetic feel rather than heaviness. There’s a gentle savoury and mineral edge beneath the fruit, finishing fresh, lightly spiced and quietly persistent.

Made from organically farmed vineyards around Montsant, the blend is typically led by Garnacha with Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon (plus smaller portions of varieties such as Cariñena or Merlot depending on the vintage). Fermented in stainless steel and aged briefly on lees rather than heavily oaked, the focus is firmly on freshness, texture and drinkability.


Grape Variety: 40% Garnacha, 25% Syrah, 15% Cabernet Sauvignon (plus small amounts of Cariñena/Merlot - 10% each - depending on vintage)
