Producer's Notes: 

A deep, rich purple robe, verging on black. The nose is refined and elegant, exuding aromas of red fruits (strawberry, raspberry, etc.), black fruits (blackcurrant, etc.), stone fruits (plum, cherry, etc.), floral notes (peppery rose, hyacinth, etc.), and spicy, even roasted, hints. On the palate, it is round and opulent, with spicy flavors and good tannic structure, culminating in a long finish.

Better known for its elegant sweet wines, Château La Rame also produces a small amount of superb, quietly overlooked red, and La Charmille is the star. From hillside vineyards on clay-limestone soils, this cuvée showcases just how refined and expressive Right Bank Bordeaux can be at everyday-drinking prices.

In the glass, expect ripe blackcurrant, plum, and red cherry layered with notes of cedar, tobacco leaf, and subtle spice. The palate is medium-bodied, smooth, and beautifully balanced: polished tannins, fresh acidity, and a clean, mineral lift that keeps everything lively. It’s the kind of Bordeaux that feels both classic and effortlessly drinkable.
