A benchmark vintage from one of South America’s most iconic estates, the 2019 Clos Apalta is a masterclass in power, elegance and precision. Widely regarded as one of the standout releases of the decade for the winery, it combines richness with remarkable balance and finesse.
The 2019 vintage in Chile is considered exceptional, producing wines of concentration, freshness and outstanding ageing potential, particularly in premium sites like Apalta.
Fruit from old vines in the Apalta amphitheatre is hand-harvested and fermented with great care before ageing for around 24–27 months in French oak (a high proportion new), building depth, texture and complexity.
The wine opens with deep, complex aromas of blackberry, cassis and plum, layered with notes of violet, cocoa, graphite and spice. On the palate it is full-bodied and beautifully structured, with dense, velvety dark fruit, ultra-fine tannins and vibrant acidity. There is both concentration and lift here, leading to a long, polished finish with exceptional persistence and a subtle mineral edge.

Style: Dry red, full-bodied Bordeaux-style blend
