Clos Apalta 2021 - Apalta, Colchagua Valley, Chile
From the esteemed estate of Domaines Bournet-Lapostolle, this flagship release marries Chilean Carmenère-driven intensity with refined winemaking and high-altitude vineyard terroir. The 2021 vintage shows excellent depth, balance, and promise for the cellar.
On the nose you’ll find ripe black cherry, plum, cassis, and blackcurrant, layered with tobacco leaf, cedar, violet petals, and spice. On the palate, it’s medium-to-full bodied with finely integrated tannins, fresh acidity, and a long, polished finish. This is Chilean fine wine at its most elevated: structured, expressive, and built to last.
Grape varieties: ~75% Carmenère, ~18% Cabernet Sauvignon, ~7% Merlot (approximate blend).
Style: Structured, age-worthy Chilean red blend of Bordeaux varietals
Drink window: Now–2040+
Perfect for: Grilled steak, aged cheeses, lamb shoulder, special occasion cellaring, or to enjoy over the next decade with confidence.
