Comm. G.B. Burlotto Dolcetto d’Alba - Verduno, Piedmont, Italy
Producer's Notes:
A reconciliation of opposites: the dreamy and the concrete, the popular and the refined, the grace of yesteryear and an unthinkable strength, the labor and sweetness that are intertwined in the name. Good in the glass of those who just want to drink it, and in that of those who want to listen to its story, calm and never arrogant. It is the wine of those in a hurry and those who have time. Aged for 9 months in stainless steel.
What we say:
Hailing from one of Verduno’s most esteemed estates, this Dolcetto d’Alba from Burlotto brings a delightful balance of regional identity and effortless drinkability. Crafted by Fabio Alessandria from old-vine Dolcetto, it offers freshness, elegance and the hallmark Piedmont character of wild cherry, violet and savoury herbs without excessive weight.
The nose opens with aromas of wild cherry, red plum, violet and subtle almond skin. On the palate, it’s light to medium-bodied with vibrant acidity, smooth tannins, juicy dark red fruit and a hint of minerality from the limestone-rich vineyards. This bottle is polished yet unpretentious - perfect for everyday enjoyment or casual pairings.
