Daniel Dampt & Fils Chablis 1er Cru Beauroy Chardonnay - Beauroy vineyard, Chablis, Burgundy, France
Producer's Notes:
Full and mineral with a long finish, this wine has a beautiful structure and partners well with a grilled salmon steak. Running alongside the Grand Cru vineyards on the right bank of the Serein, this is definitely the best-known Premier Cru. With minty and very floral aromas and a refreshing and elegant palate, the finesse of this wine matches delightfully with a pike fillet.
What We Say:
A straightforward and characterful wine with an alluring nose of white flowers, yellow fruits, and buttery notes. The palate is generous and naturally luscious, with those same buttery flavors complementing the citrus. The acidity does the rest, ensuring length and balance. This wine holds more richness and breadth than basic Chablis, but without relying on an overwhelming presence of oak.
Grape Varietal: 100% Chardonnay
Style: White - Dry, medium-bodied, un-oaked, mineral-driven, generous fruit
Alcohol: 13%
Drink Window: Now (2 to 4 years after the vintage, maturing gracefully over 5 to 8+ years)
Perfect For: Crab and lobster, fish with lemon-butter sauce, fresh goat cheese, sushi and sashimi
A pristine, mineral-driven white wine that makes for a polished expression of Chardonnay from Chablis.
