Daniel Dampt & Fils Chablis Chardonnay - Chablis, Burgundy, France
Producer's Notes:
With accents of green apple, the refreshing and lively character of this elegant wine is a joy. It will give of its best after two to three years and is a fine pairing for ham in Chablis sauce.
What We Say:
A classic, unoaked expression of Chardonnay from Chablis, emphasizing citrus, orchard fruit, saline minerality, and brisk acidity. The unoaked style brings forth a fresh, precise expression compared with the Domaine's Premier Crus; it is more immediately approachable, but it still has the hallmark Chablis combination of bright acidity, mineral tension, and saline freshness. On the nose, citrus- and orchard-fruit driven aromas accompany mineral and subtle marine notes.
Grape Varietal: 100% Chardonnay
Style: White - Dry, medium-bodied, precise, fresh, un-oaked
Alcohol: 12.5%
Drink Window: Now (within 2 to 4 years of the vintage date)
Perfect For: Oysters, sushi, fish, poached or braised meats, and creamy cheeses
An excellent example of the clean, mineral, unoaked side of Chardonnay—textured and expressive without tasting overtly oaky or buttery.
