Domaine Chavy-Chouet “Les Chanlins” Pommard 1er Cru 2023 - Côte de Beaune, Burgundy, France
From Romaric Chavy’s esteemed domaine, “Les Chanlins” is sourced from steep, calcareous-clay slopes in Pommard’s southernmost zone - an area known for deeper fruit and firm structure in Pinot Noir. With meticulous vineyard work and gentle winemaking, this 2023 bottling highlights both power and finesse.
On the nose, expect aromas of wild cherry, raspberry, rose petal and hints of dark spice and forest floor; a subtle mineral thread adds tension. On the palate, it’s medium-to-full bodied with refined tannins, vibrant acidity, and a long, polished finish that retains Pommard’s signature muscle but in a refined way. This is a powerful Pinot that will reward patience - careful cellaring could see it improve over the next decade or more.
Grape variety: 100% Pinot Noir
Style: Serious, terroir-driven Burgundy red
Drink window: 2028–2038+
Perfect for: Game birds, mushroom risotto, roast lamb, aged cheeses, or ambitious cellaring
Bold Burgundian elegance - serious terroir, beautifully expressed.
