Domaine Frédéric Lambert Côtes du Jura Vin Jaune – Jura, France
Producer's Notes:
A wine made exclusively from Savagnin, aged for six years and three months in barrels. This allows for a slow metamorphosis under a veil of yeast during which the wine acquires its golden yellow color and nutty flavor, so characteristic of this product. Carefully monitored, Vin Jaune then acquires its very particular qualities and aromas.
Nose : The nose presents an extraordinary firework of aromas that intertwine nuts, dried fruits, and spices.
Palate : The palate is massive and striking, the power of this wine gives it an eternal length in the mouth.
Vin Jaune is the only wine in the world to develop so many aromas during its aging.
What we say:
A true jewel of the Jura, Vin Jaune is one of France’s most distinctive and age-worthy wines - and Frédéric Lambert crafts a beautifully pure, expressive example. Made exclusively from Savagnin and aged for more than six years under a natural veil of yeast (sous voile), this is a wine of intensity, complexity, and unmistakable regional identity.
The nose is incredibly aromatic, offering walnut, curry leaf, dried orchard fruit, preserved lemon, chamomile, and subtle oxidative nuances. On the palate, it’s powerful and dry with remarkable depth: layers of almond, spice, yellow plum, and salty minerality carried by firm acidity and a long, almost endless finish. Profound, contemplative, and built for decades in the cellar.
Grape variety: Savagnin
Style: Oxidative, complex, long-aged Jura Vin Jaune
Drink window: Now–2045+
Perfect for: Comté cheese, mushroom dishes, roasted poultry, creamy sauces, or any occasion that calls for something truly unique and memorable
A legendary Jura classic - deep, savoury, and built for generations, not just years.
