Edge Cabernet Sauvignon - Alexander Valley, Sonoma County, California
A portion of the proceeds from the sale of USA wines from this collection in December will be donated to Harvest Manitoba by KWM, and MBLL is also making a donation to the Christmas Cheer Board for every case they've sent us out of warehouse quarantine.
Producer's Notes:
There’s good concentration and precision here, with firm but yielding tannins that give the wine an elegant structure. The fruit is concentrated and ripe, typical of the long, cool growing season of 2019. The wine shows generous dark fruit, cassis, mixed spices, licorice, coffee and tobacco, with fresh, vibrant, lifted 2019 acidity.
What we say:
A classic Alexander Valley Cabernet with bright, ripe dark fruit at its core, showing layers of blackcurrant, blackberry and plum with hints of cedar, spice and subtle oak influence. On the palate the wine is structured yet approachable, with juicy fruit supported by moderate, polished tannins and enough acidity to keep it lively. It captures the classic California Cabernet profile with a Sonoma spin - expressive, generous, and flexible at the table.
Grape variety: Cabernet Sauvignon (often blended with small amounts of Merlot/Syrah/Petite Sirah depending on the vintage)
Style: Dry red, medium-full-bodied
Drink window: Now–2028
Perfect for: Grilled steak, roast lamb, BBQ ribs, mushroom ragù, aged cheddar
Fruit-driven and structured with Sonoma character - a great everyday Alexander Valley Cabernet for both food and conversation.
