Edoardo Dottori ‘Colle Bianco’ Verdicchio - Castelli di Jesi, Marche, Italy
Producer's Notes:
100% estate grown and organically farmed Verdicchio. Edoardo’s vineyards are in the San Paolo di Jesi area, considered a “Grand Cru” location for this variety. The soils is rich in limestone and chalk. Collebianco means “white hill”.
Fermented with native yeasts in stainless steel, and aged in the same vessels for 8 months, followed by an additional 6 months in bottle.
This is a zippy, zesty and savory white, offering plenty of citrus and white flowers notes. A vibrant, cleansing finish makes this a super versatile food wine.
What we say:
Bright, vibrant and full of youthful energy, Colle Bianco is a crisp Verdicchio from the vineyards of Edoardo Dottori, a young producer dedicated to organic viticulture and minimal-intervention winemaking.
On the nose you’ll find lively notes of lemon zest, green apple and white peach, with delicate floral touches and a subtle hint of almond or chalky minerality. The palate is fresh and energetic - vibrant acidity, clean citrus and orchard-fruit flavours, gentle texture and a crisp, lingering finish. It’s a white built for freshness and drinkability, with a mineral-tinged backbone that speaks of Marche’s limestone-rich soils.
