Producer's Notes: 

This wine has lots of tart red-fruit aromas and flavors. It ferments and rests for one year in a 54-liter glass demijohn on its lees, then matures in the bottle for at least one year.
A vibrant, deeply colored red from Marche (the northerly neighbor to the better-known Abruzzo), Ribe Rosso is made from 100% Montepulciano grapes on the steep, old-vine terraces of the Dottori estate. Expect aromas of blackberry, sour cherry and plum, with undercurrents of Mediterranean scrub, dry earth and a touch of wild herbs. On the palate, it’s medium- to full-bodied, offering juicy dark fruit, supple tannins and bright acidity, finishing with a slightly rustic, mineral note reflective of the region’s soil. Earthy yet elegant, this Montepulciano balances rustic character with refined drinkability.

This Italian red is a lively, juicy, relatively light-footed expression of Montepulciano rather than a heavy, extracted red. It combines ripe fruit with bright acidity and a gently tannic structure. The palate offers an appealing mix of dark cherry and berry fruit, savory earthiness, and freshness, with a dry, persistent finish. Its artisanal character makes it especially appealing to drinkers who enjoy energetic, minimally manipulated Italian reds.
