Tenuta Arabona 'Erredia' Cerasuolo d'Abruzzo - Abruzzo, Italy
Bright, vibrant and wonderfully refreshing, Erredia Cerasuolo d'Abruzzo is a classic expression of one of Italy's most distinctive rosé styles. Brilliant cherry-pink in colour, it opens with aromas of wild strawberry, raspberry and ripe cherry, complemented by delicate floral notes and a hint of blood orange. The palate is dry and beautifully balanced, combining juicy red berry fruit with lively acidity and a subtle savoury edge. Fuller and more structured than many pale rosés, it finishes fresh and persistent, with a gentle almond note characteristic of the appellation.
Made from 100% Montepulciano, Cerasuolo d'Abruzzo is produced by allowing only a brief period of skin contact before fermentation, creating its distinctive deep cherry colour - cerasuolo means "cherry-red" in Italian. This traditional winemaking style has been part of Abruzzo's wine culture for generations and was recognized with its own DOC in 2010. The result is a rosé with more body, flavour and complexity than many of its Provençal counterparts, making it an exceptionally versatile food wine. Erredia's interpretation highlights the freshness, vibrant fruit and generous character that have made Cerasuolo one of Italy's best-kept wine secrets.
