Finca Rodma ‘Seleccion’ Tempranillo - Ribera del Duero, Spain
Finca Rodma’s “Seleccion” is a bold, full-bodied Tempranillo that showcases ripe fruit and classic Duero structure, built on old-vine vineyards at altitude with careful oak ageing (12 months in French and American barrels) to frame - but not dominate - the grape.
The wine opens with an expressive bouquet of red-fruit liqueur: think ripe cherry and blackcurrant, with violet florals and a subtle undercurrent of spice and liquorice that hints at the oak ageing. On the palate it unfolds generously - dark cherry and black-berry fruit coat the senses, while soft, rounded tannins and a fleshy mid-palate give weight and richness. The finish lingers with a savoury hint of spice and gentle dryness, leaving a sensation of depth and structure rather than sweetness or overt oak.
Grape variety: 100% Tempranillo (Tinta Fina)
Style: Full-bodied Spanish red - rich, fruit-driven and structured
Drink window: Now–2029+ depending on cellar conditions
Perfect for: Roast lamb or beef, grilled meats, game dishes, hearty stews, aged cheeses, or rustic Spanish-style meals
A serious, terroir-driven Tempranillo that balances ripe, generous fruit with good structure and classical Ribera backbone - a solid choice for robust meals or cellaring for medium-term evolution.
