Geographic Wines “Lento” Tinto – Douro, Portugal
Producer's notes:
We want to reduce to almost zero the intervention in the cellar, just feeling the beautiful notes that come from the vineyard and leave us dreaming of incredible destinations and places, reminding us that the best comes almost always slowly (Lento), at the pace of nature.
What we say:
From the steep terraces of the Douro Valley and crafted with a slow, thoughtful approach (hence the name Lento), this wine from Geographic Wines marries the region’s sun-drenched richness with cool-climate elegance. Expect bold Douro character softened by careful winemaking for a smooth, refined result.
The nose opens with dark plum, black cherry, and blackcurrant, layered with notes of spice, tobacco leaf, and a whisper of mineral from the granite-schist slopes. On the palate, Lento is medium-full bodied yet balanced—smooth tannins, generous dark fruit, fresh acidity, and a gently savoury finish that lingers. It offers both immediate pleasure and strong table presence.
Grape varieties: Indigenous Douro blends (likely including Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz, Touriga Franca)
Style: Rich-fruited, smooth, refined Douro red
Drink window: Now–2028
Perfect for: Grilled meats, barbecue, hearty stews, aged cheeses, red-sauce pasta, or any moment when you want something bold but polished
Slow-style Douro done with grace - pour Lento, sit back and let the good times roll.
