Hester Creek “Garland” - Okanagan Valley (VQA), British Columbia, Canada
Producer's Notes:
Garland is made from old vines dating back to 1968. This polished Bordeaux blend is aged 26 months in oak and is full of aromas of cedar, clove, tobacco leaf, pencil shavings and ripe blackberry. The palate is refined, yet plush with notes of plum, cassis, vanilla and bergamot. Well structured with great aging potential.
What we say:
A flagship Bordeaux-inspired blend from Hester Creek Estate Winery, The Garland showcases the depth and elegance that the Okanagan Valley can achieve with classic Bordeaux varieties. The wine opens with expressive aromas of blackcurrant, plum and dark cherry layered with notes of cedar, cocoa, dried herbs and subtle spice from oak ageing. On the palate it is full-bodied and structured, with concentrated dark fruit supported by polished tannins and lively acidity that carries through a long, refined finish. Rich yet balanced, this is a serious Canadian red that highlights both power and finesse.
