Hester Creek Old Vine Cabernet Franc - Okanagan Valley, British Columbia
Producer's Notes:
This Cabernet Franc has a penetrating nose of black currant puree, wild raspberries, anise, mulled herbs, pepper and toasted vanilla bean and spice. Intense and concentrated on the palate, with ripe dark berries, sun-drenched raspberries, anise/licorice, firm tannic structure, oak spice notes and a long finish. Aged 18 months on French oak barrels.
What we say:
Sourced from mature estate vineyards in the South Okanagan, this Old Vine Cabernet Franc delivers depth, structure and impressive varietal character. The nose opens with aromas of black cherry, cassis and plum, layered with dried herbs, graphite and a hint of savoury spice. On the palate it’s medium- to full-bodied, showing concentrated dark fruit, firm yet polished tannins and bright acidity that keeps everything balanced. Subtle oak integration adds warmth and texture without overshadowing the fruit. Structured yet elegant, this is a Cabernet Franc with both power and finesse - and it's suitable for a little bit of medium-term cellar ageing as well if you'd like to lay it down for a while.
