I Klivi Brda Bianco - Goriška Brda, Slovenia

Fresh, textured and quietly captivating, I Klivi Brda is a beautifully understated Sauvignon that places terroir ahead of overt varietal expression. Aromas of sage, wild mint, lemon zest and fresh-cut herbs mingle with notes of white peach and citrus blossom. The palate is broad yet beautifully focused, combining ripe orchard fruit with a gentle glycerol richness and an unmistakable mineral core. A subtle saline edge and a vibrant, citrus-driven finish give the wine remarkable precision and length, making it every bit as compelling as it is refreshing.

Produced from the Zunič cru near the village of Neblo in Slovenia's celebrated Brda region, the wine is a blend of 70% Sauvignon Blanc and 30% Sauvignon Vert. The vines grow on the area's distinctive Ponca soils - a mix of ancient marine marl and sandstone that also defines the great vineyards of neighbouring Collio across the Italian border. The grapes are harvested by hand before whole-cluster pressing, spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts in concrete tanks and 12 months of ageing on the fine lees, with no oak influence. The result is a wine of remarkable purity that reflects I Clivi's philosophy of allowing vineyard and soil to speak louder than winemaking.
