Julian Schaal Grand Cru Rangen Riesling - Alsace, France

Producer's Notes:
Bright and vibrant, with a pale to medium straw or gold color, this wine has an aromatic profile of white flowers with hints of jasmine and honeysuckle. Fruity notes of peaches, citrus zest, and hints of tropical fruit bring out a complex, layered nose, then lead to a sweet, acidic palate, followed by refreshing notes in the finish.

What We Say:
The vineyard in Rangen is located in the southernmost Grand Cru in Alsace and is the only one situated on volcanic rock. It features an extreme 60-degree slope that yields intense, low-production fruit. The grapes are hand-harvested, undergo spontaneous fermentation, and are aged on lees to build texture without relying on residual sugar.

Grape Varietal: 100% Riesling

Style: White - Bone-dry, medium-to-full-bodied, deeply concentrated, mineral-driven, and intense

Perfect For: Oily seafood such as grilled salmon, poached turbot, lobster, or crayfish, seafood pasta, roasted chicken, turkey, or duck

A bone-dry, "Volcanique" Riesling deeply concentrated and defined by its smoky volcanic minerality and a rich, textured palate that captures the intense, sun-drenched terroir of Alsace's southernmost grand cru.
