A crisp, expressive rosé from the Douro Valley that combines delicate red-fruit aromas with refreshing energy. La Rosa opens with fragrant notes of wild strawberry, raspberry and citrus blossom, followed by a palate that is light-to-medium in body with bright acidity, soft mineral grip and a clean, dry finish. Bright and food-friendly without being overly sweet, this is rosé with both poise and personality - perfect for warm weather and casual meals alike.
How it’s made - the saignée method.
This rosé is produced using the saignée (“bleeding”) method, where a portion of juice (in this case, from QdlR's other top-end wines) is drawn off early from fermenting red wine tanks. The brief contact with grape skins gives the wine its delicate pink colour and subtle red-fruit character, while maintaining freshness and vibrancy. The remaining juice continues on to become red wine, meaning saignée rosés often have extra flavour intensity and structure compared to direct-press styles.
