Domaine J. de Villebois Sancerre Sauvignon Blanc - Loire Valley, France
Crisp, polished and classically Sancerre, this Sauvignon Blanc opens with ripe citrus, gooseberry and green apple, layered with subtle exotic fruit, white flowers and a distinctive flinty mineral edge. The palate is fresh and finely balanced, with a smooth, rounded attack giving way to bright acidity and a clean, persistent finish. There’s enough texture to make it feel generous, but the overall impression stays precise, zesty and refreshing - exactly the kind of Loire Sauvignon that works beautifully both as an aperitif and at the table.
Made from Sauvignon Blanc grown across Sancerre’s three classic terroirs - caillottes, silex and terres blanches - the wine is built as a careful blend of parcels, each picked and vinified according to its site. The must undergoes cold settling before temperature-controlled fermentation, with the final blend assembled to balance aromatic lift, texture and mineral definition. In some vintages, extended lees ageing with stirring is used to preserve freshness while adding extra roundness and complexity.
