Origin: Haut Medoc, Bordeaux, France

Varietal: 68% Merlot, 17% Cabernet Sauvignon, 13% Petit Verdot, 2% Cabernet Franc

Producers notes:

The history of Château Ducru-Beaucaillou dates back to the very beginning of the 18th century, precisely to the year 1720. It is so named because of the beautiful (and large) pebbles characteristic of its unique wine-growing region. In an original way in Bordeaux, this Victorian-style Château is built directly above the barrel cellars. Classified 2nd Classified Growth in 1855, the property has been owned by the Borie family since 1942, which perpetuates the same concern for excellence.

This new cuvée comes from vineyards located in Haut-Me?doc; plots brought by Madame Eugène-Borie at her marriage and more recently by the acquisition of plots from Madame Fort-Pradère.

A cuvée tribute to the one who remained the president of the Supervisory Board from 1998 until this year 2020, but also to the attentive and loving mother. To the muse too. The opportunity to highlight this great lady who, out of discretion and humility, settled for the shadows. Gently, calmly, her image will join the long line of women owners of Ducru-Beaucaillou, equally inspiring and demanding, Marie Desjean, Marie du Luc Ravez, Lucie-Caroline Johnston, Princess Marie Karadja of Constantinople, Mary de Burke... All have had an essential role in the development and reputation of Ducru-Beaucaillou. Strength and grace...

The dress is brilliant, deep, purple, the nose is very charming, refined. Fresh and fruity notes emerge, underpinned by a note of French oak, morello cherry jam, violet. Spicy touches on aeration.
On the palate, the attack is frank, the tannins are silky. It is a wine of pleasure, greedy, subtle and seductive. Beautiful harmony and elegant femininity.
