Martin Müllen Kröver Paradies Spätlese Trocken - Mosel, Germany
Producer's Notes:
Our vineyards in Kröver Paradies are located at an altitude of approx. 110 m to approx. 145 m above sea level and consist of extremely stony, steep slopes that are difficult to cultivate. The exposure is western, but the “Hähl” is still exposed to strong sunlight. The vineyards we cultivate in paradise are between 35 and 110 years old and have huge potential. The wines are characterized by great finesse. You can clearly taste the minerality – and therefore the slate – in them. In ripe, dry wines, the creamy acidity is harmoniously interwoven with a powerful body and delicate cassis notes.
Obtained from overripe grapes but fermented dry, these wines are a cornucopia of flavors and complexity with fruity but also spicy characteristics. Minerality and location typicality are particularly evident in this wine style. Translated it means late harvest.
What we say:
From one of the Mosel’s most meticulous traditionalists, Martin Müllen crafts Rieslings of remarkable purity, energy and detail. This Spätlese Trocken from the steep Kröver Paradies vineyard shows the estate at its finest: crystalline aromas of lime zest, green apple and white peach woven with flinty minerality and a hint of wild herbs.
The palate is taut and focused, with electric acidity, precise fruit and a long, stony finish that delivers both refreshment and depth. It’s a dry Mosel Riesling with real intensity - structured, yet beautifully balanced.
