Domaine Mee Godard Morgon Corcelette 2021 - Beaujolais, France
Producer's Notes:
On the nose, it stands out with fresh aromas of red fruits, such as raspberry and redcurrant, accompanied by floral notes and a light scent of wild herbs. On the palate, the wine is bright, with dynamic acidity and delicate tannins, which give it an elegant structure. The finish is clean and refreshing, highlighting a pure expression of fruit and a subtle mineral touch.
What we say:
A beautifully lifted and elegant take on Morgon, ‘Corcelette’ highlights the lighter, more perfumed side of the cru, coming from sandy, granite-rich soils that favour finesse over power. It opens with bright red fruits including raspberry, redcurrant and cherry, alongside floral notes, wild herbs and a subtle mineral edge. The palate is vibrant and finely balanced, with lively acidity and delicate, silky tannins giving it a graceful structure. The 2021 vintage leans into freshness and clarity, finishing clean, precise and quietly expressive with a gentle stony lift.
Sourced from south-east-facing slopes (notably parcels like Bellevue and Montillet), this cuvée is typically made with a traditional, low-intervention approach with partial whole-cluster fermentation, gentle extraction and ageing in large, mostly neutral oak, allowing the sandy terroir to shine through in a style often described as the “Fleurie” of Morgon.
