Moulin de Gassac ‘Guilhem’ Red -  Pays d’Hérault, Languedoc, France

Soft, juicy and wonderfully easygoing, ‘Guilhem’ Red is a sunny southern French blend built for everyday pleasure. It opens with bright red and black fruit - cherry, blackberry and strawberry, layered with gentle spice and a subtle Mediterranean herbal note. The palate is supple and fruit-forward, with soft tannins, a rounded texture and enough freshness to keep everything lively rather than heavy. It finishes smooth, lightly savoury and very approachable, making it the kind of bottle that feels equally at home with a casual dinner or a table full of snacks.

Made from Alicante, Carignan and Merlot grown around Villeveyrac on dry Jurassic limestone slopes rich in bauxite, the wine is fully destemmed, with all varieties vinified together and macerated for around 10–12 days. It is bottled without filtration, helping preserve its generous fruit and easy, honest character while keeping the focus firmly on drinkability.

A charming, no-fuss Languedoc red - ripe, friendly and built for exactly the sort of meals where the second glass appears without much discussion.
