Joyful, vibrant and unlike almost any other sparkling wine, Renardat-Fâche's Bugey Cerdon is bursting with fresh berry fruit and gentle sweetness, balanced by lively acidity and delicate bubbles. Aromas of wild strawberry, raspberry, redcurrant and a touch of ripe apple leap from the glass, while the palate is fresh, lightly creamy and wonderfully refreshing. The natural sweetness is beautifully judged, making the wine feel bright and energetic rather than rich, before finishing with flavours of juicy summer berries and a delicate floral lift. 

The Renardat family has been crafting wine in the tiny village of Mérignat for eight generations, becoming one of the benchmark producers of Bugey Cerdon, one of France's most distinctive sparkling wine appellations. Made from Gamay and Poulsard using the traditional Méthode Ancestrale, fermentation begins in tank before the partially fermented wine is bottled, where it naturally completes fermentation to create its gentle sparkle. Unlike the traditional method used in Champagne, no secondary fermentation is induced, preserving the wine's vibrant fruit, low alcohol and naturally balanced residual sweetness. The estate now farms its vineyards certified biodynamically, further emphasising its commitment to expressing the unique character of this remarkable alpine terroir.
