Rochioli ‘West Block’ Pinot Noir 2006 - Russian River Valley, California, USA

Rochioli’s 2006 West Block is often regarded as a textbook example of aged Russian River Valley Pinot - deep, layered and mature, yet still carrying purity of fruit and a refined expression of terroir. On the nose, expect intense aromas of black raspberry, kirsch, forest-floor humus, and late-summer wild berries, along with subtle undergrowth, soft spice and floral undertones. On the palate the wine is medium- to medium-full bodied, with a core of ripe red and dark cherry fruit, touches of earth, spice and a hint of clove; richness is balanced by an elegant acidity, fine-grained tannins, and a long, contemplative finish - vivid fruit remains, but there’s also a graceful, mature savoury character.

Grape variety: 100% Pinot Noir

Style: Old-vines, single-block Pinot Noir - balanced, textured, age-worthy

Drink window: Drinking beautifully now; likely still developing — peak perhaps 2026–2035, depending on storage

Perfect for: Roast duck or game, mushroom ragù or truffle pasta, grilled salmon, porcini-risotto, or a slow-braised pork shoulder

A superbly mature Pinot Noir from a legendary single-block vineyard - rich, complex and beautifully evolved, yet still alive and elegant. It’s a compelling drink now, and should continue to reward patience for years to come.

*Please be aware that with all vintage wines, the natural corks may crumble if using a regular corkscrew. Please use proper uncorking tools and exercise caution.  Sediment will settle in the bottle over time therefore decanting the wine prior to serving will remove this deposit. We're always happy to advise, drop us a message or give us a call.
