San Felice ‘Bell’Aja’ Bolgheri DOC Superiore - Tuscany, Italy
Producer's Notes:
Deep ruby red color. The nose reveals hints of ripe red fruits with spicy notes of licorice and cocoa. On the palate is full, ample, with smooth and silky tannins.
What we say:
Presented in the generous 3L double magnum format, this estate bottling from San Felice captures the full intensity and elegance of Bolgheri with serious presence and cellar-potential. Sourced from the oldest Merlot-dominant parcels in the “Le Sondraie” area at Bolgheri, it combines Bordeaux-style blending with a coastal Tuscan terroir.
On the nose: black cherry, plum compote, cassis, dark chocolate, dried herb and a hint of licorice and oak spice. On the palate: full-bodied yet sleek, fine tannins, fresh acidity, layered dark fruits, graphite and spice - showing both power and refinement. The double magnum size adds an extra dimension for extended ageing and impact. Available here in a format designed for those special occasions or serious cellar investment.
Grape varieties: Primarily Merlot (high proportion) with a touch of Cabernet Sauvignon.
Style: Premium Tuscan red, Bolgheri DOC Superiore, large format 3L.
Drink window: Now–2035+ (large formats often enhance ageing potential)
Perfect for: Roast lamb, beef fillet, game in tomato-herb sauce, aged cheeses, or as a landmark bottle for a key celebration.
A bold yet refined Bolgheri giant - magnified by format, enriched by terroir, destined for the long view.
