Sarget de Gruaud-Larose Saint-Julien 2013 - Bordeaux, France
Producer's Notes:
Red colour with purple highlights, limpid and brilliant. The nose is very open, precise , with notes of blackberries, black fruit jelly, elderberry juice, fresh oak and spices.
On the palate, the attack is frank. The wine offers fresh fruit and pleasant freshness. The tannins are silky - with character. Great aromatic persistence.
What we say:
Sarget de Gruaud-Larose is the second wine of the storied château, offering an approachable yet class-driven glimpse of Médoc terroir. On the nose, expect ripe blackcurrant and plum fruit mingled with cedar, graphite and a hint of cigar box - a balanced mix of fruit and structural Bordeaux character. On the palate, the wine delivers smooth dark-berry flavours, gentle tobacco and subtle savoury undercurrents, carried by soft tannins and fresh acidity for a clean, polished finish.
Grape variety: 61% Cabernet Sauvignon, 29% Merlot, 7% Cabernet Franc, 3% Petit Verdot
Style: Classic Médoc red with depth, balance, and Bordeaux structure
