Sons of Eden 'Marschall' Shiraz - Barossa Valley, Australia
Rich, vibrant and unmistakably Barossan, Marschall Shiraz delivers impressive concentration without sacrificing freshness or finesse. Aromas of dark cherry, blackberry and blood plum leap from the glass, joined by notes of violet, black pepper, dark chocolate, tapenade and warm baking spice. The palate is generous and beautifully balanced, with layers of ripe black fruit supported by velvety tannins, bright natural acidity and subtle savoury complexity. Powerful yet polished, it finishes long and persistent with a fine mineral edge that keeps every sip fresh and inviting.
Named in honour of legendary Barossa grower David Marschall, the wine is sourced from a collection of family vineyards across Tanunda, Ebenezer, Light Pass, Trial Hill, Gomersal and Seppeltsfield. Each site contributes a different dimension, from the fragrant, sandy-soil fruit of Tanunda to the dense, structured Shiraz grown on Ebenezer's iron-rich soils. Individual parcels undergo extended skin contact before maturing for 14 months in a combination of new and seasoned oak hogsheads, allowing the fruit to retain its vibrancy while gaining texture and complexity. Sons of Eden's philosophy is to highlight vineyard character above all else, and Marschall is a superb example of the depth and elegance that modern Barossa Shiraz can achieve.
