Verso Cius Ribolla Gialla - Venezia Giulia IGT, Friuli, Italy
A fresh and expressive take on one of Friuli’s most traditional white grapes, Cius from Verso highlights the bright, mineral character that makes Ribolla Gialla so distinctive. Grown in the north-east of Italy, near the Slovenian border, this wine reflects the region’s cool influences and focus on purity.
Ribolla Gialla is a historic grape of Friuli and neighbouring Slovenia, prized for its high acidity, subtle aromatics and mineral character, often producing wines that are more about freshness and texture than overt fruitiness.
The nose is lively and inviting, showing lemon, green apple and pear, with subtle notes of white flowers and a light almond edge. On the palate it is crisp and energetic, with vibrant acidity and a clean, mineral backbone supporting citrus and orchard fruit. The finish is dry, refreshing and slightly saline, making it particularly food-friendly.
