Vicente Gandía ‘Castillo de Liria’ Bobal Rosado - Valencia, Spain
Producer's Notes:
This wine has a very vivid raspberry pink colour. Its delicate aroma is reminiscent of strawberry and presents a prominent range of floral notes. On the palate it is very flavoursome, very fruity and fresh.
What we say:
Bright, juicy and effortlessly refreshing, Castillo de Liria Bobal Rosado is a fruit-forward Spanish rosé made for relaxed, casual enjoyment. Aromas of fresh strawberry and raspberry are joined by delicate floral notes and a hint of red cherry. The palate is light and lively, with generous red berry fruit, refreshing acidity and a gently rounded texture. Clean and uncomplicated, it finishes with lingering raspberry and subtle floral character.
Produced entirely from Bobal, one of eastern Spain’s most important native grape varieties, the wine is made as a youthful, unoaked rosado to preserve its freshness and vivid fruit. Bobal’s deeply coloured skins provide the wine with its vibrant raspberry-pink hue and expressive red berry character, while the variety’s natural acidity maintains balance and drinkability. Castillo de Liria was introduced by Vicente Gandía in 1971 and holds an important place in the region’s history as the first wine brand bottled commercially in the Valencian Community.
