Weiser-Künstler Enkircher Ellergrub Riesling Kabinett – Mosel, Germany
From one of the Mosel’s most legendary steep-slate vineyards, Ellergrub Kabinett is a jewel of delicacy, purity, and terroir expression. Weiser-Künstler’s meticulous, low-intervention approach allows this exceptional site - famous for its ancient blue slate and dizzying gradients - to shine with crystalline clarity.
The nose is enchanting, offering notes of white peach, lime blossom, green apple, and cool slate minerality. On the palate, it’s beautifully poised: light and filigreed with vibrant acidity, gentle natural sweetness, and a shimmering, airy texture. The finish is long, elegant, and refined, balancing fruit and minerality with effortless precision.
Grape variety: Riesling
Style: Delicate, lightly sweet, mineral-driven Mosel Kabinett
Drink window: Now–2035
Perfect for: Spicy dishes, fresh cheeses, fruit-based desserts, aperitif sipping, or enjoying on its own
Graceful, transparent, and utterly classic—Weiser-Künstler’s Ellergrub Kabinett is Mosel Riesling at its most ethereal and captivating.
Additional note from the US Importer:
The Ellergrub Kabinett is the masterpiece of the Kabinett lineup, the most mineral and dense, the most structured. I’d say that this is most often the most complex and normally the toughest of the Kabinetts; it can require time to join together completely.
In 2024 this wine is absolutely psychedelic with acid of 10.5g, 48g of RS and just 7.5% alcohol. A relatively petite version of this Kabinett with a deep nose that comes from the large portion of ungrafted vines that are 110-years-old and older. There is a flinty and nearly smokey tone before the yellow fruits arrive in the palate finishing with fine herbal flavors. A zappy and elegant wine.
