Weiser-Künstler Trabener Gaispfad Riesling Kabinett Trocken – Mosel, Germany
A beautifully refined dry Riesling from one of the Mosel’s most exciting small estates, Trabener Gaispfad Kabinett Trocken captures Weiser-Künstler’s hallmark elegance and razor-sharp precision. Sourced from the steep, slate-rich slopes of the Gaispfad vineyard, this is a wine that pairs delicacy with intensity in true Mosel fashion.
The nose is bright and crystalline, offering aromas of lime peel, green apple, white peach, and crushed slate, with a subtle herbal lift. On the palate, it’s taut and zesty - light-bodied yet deeply expressive, with vibrant acidity and a laser-focused mineral core. The finish is long, dry, and quietly complex, reflecting both the purity of the vineyard and the finesse of the producer.
Grape variety: Riesling
Style: Crisp, mineral, finely etched dry Riesling
Drink window: Now–2032
Perfect for: Shellfish, salads, sushi, delicate white fish, lightly spiced dishes, or as a refreshing aperitif
Precise, racy, and beautifully expressive - Weiser-Künstler’s Trabener Gaispfad Kabinett Trocken is a standout dry Mosel Riesling from one of the region’s most meticulous producers.
Additional note from the US importer:
The Gaispfad Kabinett Trocken is for me one of the diminutive masterpieces of the Mosel. For me, the Gaispfad Kabinett Trocken always tastes like iron and thyme with nearly no fruit to speak of. Made from 90-year-old, ungrafted vines, in 2024 because of the difficulties, only 500L were made. A wine that is more to be experienced than described - intense structure and yet evaporative and completely seamless. This is plain and simple a wine for the absolute mineral freaks.
