Profound, elegant and beautifully age-worthy, Yann Chave's Hermitage is a magnificent expression of one of the world's greatest Syrah appellations. The nose is deeply perfumed with layers of blackberry, crème de cassis and black cherry, intertwined with violet, cracked black pepper, smoked meat, liquorice, graphite and the distinctive scent of warm granite. The palate is powerful yet remarkably graceful, combining concentrated dark fruit with finely sculpted tannins, vibrant acidity and a striking mineral backbone. Every element is perfectly in balance, leading to an exceptionally long finish where savoury spice, floral notes and crushed stone linger with remarkable precision. 

Produced in tiny quantities from a handful of steep, granite-rich parcels on the famed Hermitage hill, this is the flagship wine of the estate. Yann Chave farms organically, harvesting each parcel by hand before fermenting naturally with indigenous yeasts. Gentle extraction preserves the purity and finesse of the fruit, while extended maturation in French oak barrels, a proportion of which are new, adds subtle structure and complexity without masking the vineyard's character. The result is a Hermitage that captures the appellation's hallmark combination of power, freshness and extraordinary longevity, while remaining unmistakably true to Chave's elegant, terroir-driven style.
