Alain Graillot Crozes-Hermitage 2014 - Northern Rhône, France

Producer's Notes:

From Les Chénes Verts, Pont de l'Ilsère, Rhône, France. In a style that is astonishing in its charm and delicacy, the Crozes-Hermitage 2014 is a very accessible Syrah that still surprises with age. One could even say that it is the most timeless wine of the estate, good at all stages of its evolution!

Purplish ruby colour. Aromas of red fruits mixed with notes of violet and fine smoky touches.

What we say:

From one of the Rhône’s benchmark producers, this 2014 vintage reflects the classic Syrah profile: dark fruit, spice, minerality and elegance. The wine shows aromas of blackberry, plum, violet, cracked pepper, smoked meat and subtle black-olive tapenade, with a smoky, herbal note that speaks to its northern Rhône pedigree.

On the palate it remains medium-bodied but concentrated, with finely grained tannins, good acidity and a mineral-tinged finish - balanced enough to enjoy now yet offering enough structure for further evolution.

Robert Parker scored this wine 88 points.

Grape variety: 100% Syrah
