Beck-Hartweg 'Tout Naturellement' Macéré Orange - Dambach-la-Ville, Alsace, France
Producer's Notes:
A zero-zero, skin-contact orange/amber field blend from Alsace, France, crafted with minimal intervention, aged two years in old oak casks and macerated for three months, then estate bottled without filtration or sulfites. This wine is crisp and drinkable when young; however, it will age well, gaining in purity and complexity. A nice orange-and-salmon color starts the bottle experience, leading to an expressive nose and unique aromas.
This wine's grapes are hand-harvested and undergo short-to-medium skin maceration (about 8 days to 3 weeks), spontaneous wild-yeast fermentation, and aging in neutral old oak casks. It is bottled unlined, unfiltered, without added sulfites or additives. This delightful orange wine is best served at around 13°C and opened about an hour before pouring.
