Camur-ria /kamu’r:ia/ - Sicilian for ‘trouble’. Sicilian sun and wind, organic grapes and a long maceration on the skins, spontaneous fermentation in neutral barrels. So, Camurria Orange was born, a natural orange wine bottled unfined and unfiltered.

What we say:

A vibrant, natural orange wine from Di Giovanna, Camurrìa is a beautifully expressive take on 100% Grillo, grown organically in the hills of Contessa Entellina. This is very much a wine of place - shaped by Sicilian sun, wind and volcanic soils, with a hands-off approach in the cellar. 

This sits firmly in the modern natural orange wine space, where skin contact brings added texture and gentle tannic grip, along with savoury, slightly nutty complexity. Compared to typical white wines, it leans more toward a structured, food-driven style, offering both freshness and depth with a slightly wild, unpolished edge that’s very much part of its charm.

Organically grown grapes from 30-year-old vines are hand-harvested and undergo around 5 days of skin contact, followed by spontaneous fermentation with native yeasts. The wine completes malolactic fermentation and is aged in a mix of stainless steel and neutral barrels on fine lees for several months before being bottled unfined and unfiltered, preserving texture and authenticity. 

The wine shows a striking amber hue and opens with aromatic notes of wild flowers, almond, marzipan and orange peel. On the palate it is medium-bodied and savoury, with a bright acid core and gentle tannic grip, revealing layers of citrus, stone fruit and sweet spice through a textured, slightly wild finish.
