Domaine d’Edouard Bourgogne Pinot Noir - Auxerre, Burgundy, France
A beautifully pure, cool-climate expression of Pinot Noir from the often-overlooked Côtes d’Auxerre, this wine opens with lifted aromas of wild strawberry, red cherry and raspberry, layered with rose petal, forest floor and a subtle herbal edge. There’s a distinct mineral thread running through it, reflecting the limestone and clay soils of the region. The palate is vibrant and finely detailed, with fresh acidity and silky, lightly grippy tannins giving it structure without weight. Made with a gentle, low-intervention approach - often including partial whole-cluster fermentation and ageing in older oak - it prioritises clarity and finesse over power, finishing clean, precise and quietly persistent.
