Domaine d'Edouard Bourgogne Côtes d'Auxerre Chardonnay - Côtes d'Auxerre, Burgundy, France

Producere's Notes:

This cuvée is composed of grapes from three parcels, including an old vine. The one-year aging process is a mix of wines vinified and aged in tanks on fine lees, and others vinified and aged in 228-liter and 350-liter barrels on the lees. This deliberate double aging brings power, structure, and complexity to the wine, while also allowing the aromatic richness of the cuvée to develop. It retains the freshness and vibrancy typical of our northern region, but also offers a roundness and immediate appeal. This is a vintage that can age without any problem, acquiring beautiful patinated, nutty, buttery, brioche, and fruity notes of the Chardonnay.

What We Say:

A northern Burgundy Chardonnay distinctive of its region, it's fresh and mineral at its core, but with enough richness and oak influence to give it a broader, more textural feel than a very lean Chablis-style wine. The nose is full of citrus and orchard fruit, layered with creamy, gently nutty notes and a round, fresh palate.
This expression of Chardonnay stands out because it combines the cool-climate acidity and limestone minerality of northern Burgundy with the texture, richness, and nutty, buttery complexity associated with lees and barrel élevage.
